Your Wedding Service
Jane starts by welcoming your family and
friends to your special day.
The introduction allows you to share your values
and views on your relationship and why you have chosen
to marry. You can acknowledge the love and
support of your family, including your children (if
applicable).
Jane introduces herself and the role she plays in
your wedding service as well as explaining the
Marriage Act and what marriage means according to
the law in Australia.
The traditional giving away or parental
blessing follows. This is an opportunity for
the parents to be involved in their acceptance of the
marriage. Or you may choose a traditional "giving
away".
A reading, poem or song can be chosen.
This can be done by Jane, a family member, friend or the
soon-to-be bride and groom.
Jane will ask you if you wish to proceed
and acknowledges your willingness to proceed with
the ceremony.
Vows are exchanged. You can choose the vows
you wish to make to your partner from a beautiful range
Jane has available or you can write your own to reflect
your own unique style.
Exchanging of rings. Once again, you can
choose what you would like to say as you exchange rings
or choose from a selection of readings Jane has
available.
The conclusion of the ceremony is a pronouncement
by Jane that you are now husband and wife. Now is
the time for THE KISS!
The legal documentation, including the official
Marriage Certificate are signed.
Jane announces the newly married couple
to the guests. A blessing or reading of words of
congratulation can be read if you wish.
